How It Works
A Quick Story
Kids grow up too fast. Often, they wear a pair of shoes only a few times before outgrowing them. Maybe they snowboard just a handful of times each winter or join a basketball class for one semester. As a result, many shoes remain almost new and perfectly wearable. Instead of letting these shoes end up unused or discarded, we can pass them on to students who really need them.
A Purchase with Purpose – or Just a Donation
At Project Step Again, we turn surplus into support. You can join in two ways:
Buy & Donate: Purchase a new pair of shoes from us and donate your old pair at the same time to get a 10% discount.
Donate Only: You don’t have to buy anything. Simply donate your lightly-used shoes by shipping them to our warehouse or handing them to us in person.
Collection Methods
We collect shoes through a few channels:
-
Discount-for-Donation: Buy and donate to receive a discount.
-
Community Events: We host collection drives at local sports events.
-
Referrals: Friends and family spread the word and help us gather more donations.
Reconditioning Process
Every donated shoe is:
-
Stored safely.
-
Processed to become clean and nearly new, at least 90% new or more.
-
Delivered to underprivileged students in need.
Profit Reinvestment
Most profits are reinvested into the project to cover storage, reconditioning, and delivery costs, making the cycle sustainable.
Our Goal
We aim to donate 10,000 pairs of shoes. Each pair is a step toward better opportunities for students.
Why It Matters
By connecting surplus shoes with students in need, we reduce waste and provide comfort and dignity to those who need it most.
How You Can Join
Just donate your shoes (with or without buying), ensure they’re in good shape, and spread the word.
A Step Toward Change
