Frequently asked questions

What is Project Step Again?

Project Step Again is a project that collects gently-used shoes, refurbishes them, and donates them to underprivileged students. Every pair sold helps fund the cleaning, storage, and delivery process, creating a one-for-one cycle where each shoe sold = one shoe donated.

How can I donate my shoes?

You can donate in two ways:

When buying – donate your old shoes and receive a 10% discount on your new pair.
Without buying – simply ship your gently-used shoes to our warehouse or hand them to us at a collection event.

Before shipping, please upload a photo of your shoes so we can verify their condition.

What kind of shoes are accepted?

We only accept shoes that meet our Donation Condition Policy:

Wearable, not broken or unsafe.
Shoes must be no more than three years old.
At least 80% new (lightly used).
Clean, no odor or mold.
Both shoes must be present and matching.
Shoes that are heavily worn, torn, or unclean cannot be accepted.

What do I get if I donate shoes?

When you donate your gently-used shoes during purchase, you receive:

10% off your total order.
Free shipping if you mail your donation to us.

What happens to the donated shoes?

Every donated shoe goes through our reconditioning process:

Quality check and cleaning
Repair and refurbishment
Safe packaging and delivery to underprivileged students in need
We make sure every pair looks and feels at least 90% new before donation.
